Hospice care in the Alberni Valley exists with the support of local businesses.
Many donors work for companies with matching gift programs. If you and your coworkers would like to make regular donations from your pay cheque, ask your human resources department to set this up on your behalf and don't forget to ask if your company would consider matching employee donations.
Contact us and we can provide details on how to start an employee donation program at your place of work.
Designate a special day where a percentage of your business sales are donated to The Alberni Valley Hospice Society.
Supporting an existing fundraising event or creating one of your own are ways you can help support The Alberni Valley Hospice Society. Talk to us about becoming a sponsor at our signature events: Light Up Hospice, the Butterfly Effect and the Black Ty Gala.
Contact us if you have a fundraiser that you would like to host or if you have an idea to help us promote an existing event. We are always looking for new ways to raise funds.
If you own a retail business in Port Alberni talk to us about making an “in kind” donation to our society in exchange for a tax receipt. Our needs vary from office equipment to various supplies for both the Community Office and Ty Watson House. Local businesses have also donated items for our annual raffles and auctions at our fundraising events.
Contact us about sponsoring a fundraising event:
Our Light Up Hospice event invites members of the community to honor the memory of their loved ones by making a cash donation toward the decorative lights, wreaths, stars and other beautiful holiday décor items that we use to adorn the exterior of the AVHS Community Office!
The Black Ty Gala is a major fundraiser that benefits Ty Watson House, and allows us to continue to provide quality end of life care in the Port Alberni community.
The Butterfly Effect is a butterfly release fundraiser for the Alberni Valley Hospice Society. Our events include kids' activities, live music, food and more!
Release a butterfly for fun, or in memory of a loved one!
Do you have an interest in helping us educate the community on hospice services and the important role our society plays in caring for palliative clients?
Does engaging with members of our community to encourage donations and support for our fundraising events and activities appeal to you?
Anyone who is a friend of hospice can help us raise funds!
