The Black Ty Gala is a major fundraiser that benefits Ty Watson House. All funds raised at this event allow us to continue to provide quality end of life care for the Port Alberni community.

The Black Ty Gala returns to Echo Community Centre Saturday, May 27, 2023!

Join us for our biggest fundraiser of the year, with music, live and silent auctions, a delicious dinner catered by the Starboard Grill, and more!

Doors open at 6pm.
Dress code is cocktail/formal.

Please note that tables seat 8 guests.
All guests will be assigned a table; please let us know who to seat you with.

Tickets are $150, and eligible for a $60 tax receipt.

The Gala began in 2008 and is the brainchild of a group of community members whose vision, creativity and countless volunteer hours created what has become one of the Alberni Valley’s most popular and coveted social events! The founding members of the group continue to lead the Gala Committee and are an integral part of our fundraising activities.

The Black Ty Gala is a spectacular event that includes entertainment, cocktail reception, gourmet dinner, silent and live auctions, and an evening of dancing.

Businesses and individuals from across Vancouver Island contribute exceptional items for our live and silent auctions. Items include fine art, wine, gift certificates, major sport and recreation equipment, airline travel and luxury hotel stays.

How to Support the Gala

  • Become a sponsor: There are many elements to the gala that a business, individual or service group could sponsor. Talk to us about providing goods, services or a cash contribution to support the opening reception, entertainment, food and beverage and other expenses related to the gala.
  • Donate an item for auction: By donating unique and valued items for our auction you help raise funds for Ty Watson House.

Sponsorships, cash contributions and donated items are eligible for tax receipts.
