Compassionate
Care Since 1982

The Alberni Valley Hospice Society sustains compassionate care and human dignity by providing support, education, and advocacy to individuals and their families facing life-limiting illness, death, and bereavement.

We provide support in your community, in your home, in hospital, and in our residential care facility at Ty Watson House.

Whether it be receiving counseling, putting together your health care plan, recording your life story, or receiving a personal service such as Reiki, or Healing Touch, we are proud to provide our services Free of Charge to all residents of our community.

Providing compassionate care for people of all ages and cultures.

The Alberni Valley Hospice Society provides practical, emotional and spiritual support through all stages of life.

Who We Help

We provide guidance and specialized programs while you are healthy and when your needs change. Our society also delivers ongoing support to family members after a death occurs.

At Ty Watson House there is a small per diem charge to offset hospitality services. Our other programs and services are available free of charge to everyone in our community.

Your loved one does not have to use the residential hospice facilities at Ty Watson House in order for your family to access our complimentary programs and resources.

How We Help

We offer many services to individuals, friends and family members who are dealing with the stress and anxiety of preparing an individual who is taking the journey toward the end of life.

Talk to us. We can provide you with tools to guide you through those difficult conversations that need to happen with your family members.

How You Can Help

Get involved. Become a member. Become a community hospice care volunteer.

There are many volunteer roles available within the society, including office support, fundraising and building maintenance.

And of course, making a donation or organizing a fundraiser will help us continue our valued work and free programs.
