For the month of June, various businesses in the Alberni Valley will be raising funds for Alberni Hospice during Butterfly Month!
Visit these local businesses and support Butterfly Month by donating at the till.
Plus, on Saturday, June 27th, join us for a butterfly release!
Our annual butterfly release is a heartwarming family event that touches the lives of everyone in the Alberni Valley.
Join us to release a butterfly for fun or in memory of a loved one.
The event is family friendly and includes free kids' activities, free face painting, free water, food by donation and more!
We advise all guests to bring hats, camping chairs, sunscreen, and anything else they need to be comfortable at our outdoor space during a summer day.
Our annual butterfly release will return Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Join us at our Community Office, 2579 10th Ave, Port Alberni.
Event runs 11:30-1:30
Butterfly pickup starts at 12:15pm
Release at 12:30
Please note: No butterflies are held after release
Butterflies are limited - it is highly recommended you reserve in advance as we sell out each year.
Butterflies are $25 each (Painted Lady butterflies in individual release boxes)
A limited number of no-cost butterflies are also available to the community, generously sponsored by Jim's Clothes Closet!
Simply contact the AV Hospice office to reserve a no-cost butterfly.
