General donationsMany choose hospice as their "charity of choice", often because someone they have known has benefited from Hospice services or they don't wish to make a specific donation in memory. Planned GivingThis is an excellent way to support the work of Alberni Valley Hospice into the future. It is and opportunity to leave a lasting legacy of love within the context of sound financial planning and estate planning. Planned giving can and often does result in significant tax advantages for the donor. There are many options to consider that make a invaluable gift. Planned giving can take the form of wills and bequests, life insurance, RRSPs, charitable trusts and property. Although some of the gift options often can be completed on your own, we recommend that you consult with your financial and legal advisors to ensure that you make fully informed decisions. Gifts In KindThese are donations other than cash such as tangible property, real estate, artwork, securities, etc. They are eligible for donation credits based on the fair market value at the time of donation. For tax purposes the gifted item will be deemed to have disposed at fair market value on that date. Gifts from Community Service organizationsMany of the services organizations in this community have generously gifted the AV Hospice Society with dollars and gifts in kind over the years to enable us to continue to fund our programs. Gifts from Community Businesses and IndividualsSeveral businesses in the Valley regularly contribute in kind services which greatly reduces our over all operating costs. The Alberni Valley Hospice Society also benefits from events held by various individuals, businesses and organizations in our community.
